ENQUIRIES are continuing this afternoon following a crash at Church Litten which saw two pedestrians seriously injured.
A man and a woman have been taken to hospital with serious injuries - one airlifted to Southampton and one taken to St Mary's by ambulance.
Police have now opened the road at Church Litten, near Marks and Spencer, and access to Morrisons and Marks and Spencer is available to both motorists and pedestrians.
A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.48am this morning to a report of a collision involving a van and two pedestrians on Church Litten, Newport."
They said earlier that officers were at the scene conducting enquiries.

The roads are now fully open again.
