From 4pm today, water levels are peaking at Alverstone, a little later than forecast.

Some minor out-of-bank flooding may also occur in the fields of Langbridge.

The statement says: “We do not expect access issues to Horringford or impacts on Sandown.

“Property flooding is not expected, and no further rain is expected today.”

Drier weather through into tomorrow (Thursday) will allow water levels to recover, and the flood alert is expected to be removed at 9am.

The Isle of Wight still has a hosepipe ban in place.
