THE Isle of Wight Film Fixers — which gets local people and businesses involved in TV and film productions on the Island — has become a Community Interest Company.

Dadina Sagger, known as the IW Film Fixer, said she is delighted to make the announcement.

She believes it will help bring money to the Island and give young people opportunities to get into the film and television industry.

Her other company, Island People Agency, is already well known for its work in getting supporting artists on the screen for the likes of Victoria and Abdul, The Beast Must Die, and The Cockfields, which airs its second series today (Monday).

Dadina said: "We have worked with hotels paid tens of thousands pounds for having the stars to stay.

"We were thrilled when a local uni graduate, from Sandown, became a cashier on The Beast Must Die was was paid £640 a week.

"She is now working on the mainland on other productions so it was a foot into the industry.

"Also, one of our marshals went off on other jobs with the location company after impressing them.

"Becoming a CIC will help the Island by getting us known in the industry as the place to film — after all, we have it all here!

"I am just one of many that will make the Film Fixers successful. Hopefully by being a CIC Islanders and businesses will be more inclined to register their services, car, house, business, hotel, and so on, with us, for potential use in productions.

"Production teams will see all they need is here on the Island. When they come here to capitalise on our views, they usually bring everything over with them, but this way they can use local, so it's a win win for them and the Islanders involved."
