Series two of The Cockfields, filmed on the Isle of Wight, starts today (Monday).

The comedy about family life, written by Joe Wilkinson and David Earl, returns from today until November 12.

The next instalment follows a week in the lives of 40-something Simon (Joe Wilkinson) and his fiancée Esther (Susannah Fielding), as they stay for what they hope will be a relaxing short summer break with Simon's ever-doting mum Sue (Sue Johnston), stepfather Ray (Gregor Fisher) and stepbrother David (Ben Rufus Green) in their house on the Isle of Wight, says tv network Gold.

The crew was spotted in locations across the Isle of Wight over the summer - the second stint here for many of them.

In July, the County Press shared photos of the team when they were in Appley, Ventnor, and Sandown.

Their return was a welcome one - but it had had to be delayed, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Series One of The Cockfields was shown on Gold in 2019 and featured two actors who will not return for series two.

Dianne Morgan does not appear to feature, and Gregor Fisher returns as Simon's stepdad, after the sad death of comedian Bobby Ball at the age of 76, in October 2020, after he tested positive for Covid-19.
