Isle of Wight athletes are continuing to impress at Island Games 2023, with another flurry of medals in Guernsey.

As of this morning (Wednesday), TeamIOW is sixth in the medal table with seven golds, nine silvers and four bronze medals.

Proving they've got their eye on the prize, the shooting team is leading the way with 12 medals in total, including four golds.

Matthew Reed has claimed two silvers - one in an individual event and another in a team event with Perron Phipps.

While Imogen Reed and Shelley Sprack came second in the 10m air pistol, and Guy Moss claimed bronze in the 10m air rifle.

On the track, runner Dan Eckerlsey won a silver in the Chase, narrowly missing out to Olympian Kaur Kivistik.

TeamIOW's swimmers have been making a splash too, with Abi Lacey (silver) and Grace Poynter (bronze) bagging medals.

There was also a bronze medal for the Isle of Wight's table tennis players in the team event.

On the football pitch, TeamIOW put themselves within touching distance of silverware after defeating hosts Guernsey to progress to the semi-finals.

Today's highlights include track and field events, ladies and men's golf and sailing.
