Police are hunting a missing electric motorbike after a crash on the Isle of Wight seriously injured a pedestrian and led to the rider's arrest.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary was called to Beatrice Avenue at the junction with South Bank Road in East Cowes at 10.24pm on July 20.
A collision involved a Surron electric motorbike and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with a serious injury.
The rider, a 20-year-old man from East Cowes, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance, and failing to stop after a collision.
He has been released on police bail.
When officers arrived at the scene, the bike involved in the collision was not present.
Police suspect someone else removed the bike and are appealing for witnesses.
A spokesperson said: "Were you in the area at the time? Did you witness the collision? Perhaps you have dash-cam footage that may assist us?"
