EMERGENCY service teams are responding to another incident on the Isle of Wight involving a person stuck in mud this afternoon (Saturday)

HM Coastguard received a 999 call at around midday, reporting a person stuck in the mud near Nodes Point.

Coastguard rescue teams from Ventnor, Needles and Bembridge have been sent, along with crews from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.

The incident is ongoing.

Last weekend, coastguard and firefighters were called to two incidents involving individuals stuck in waist-deep mud.

Two women became stuck in mud near Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park.

On the same day, a woman and her dog were also rescued from mud - and in the same location.

On both occasions, there was a large, multi-agency response, and coastguard and firefighters were called to assist.
