An Isle of Wight garden centre is offering a £1,000 reward for information about the theft of gas cylinders, worth hundreds of pounds.

As the County Press previously reported, 14 gas cylinders were reported stolen from Busy Bee Garden Centre on Brading Road, Ryde.

Police were alerted on Friday, February 2 to a theft which occurred overnight on Thursday, February 1.

The garden centre said it was visited by a 'reprobate who cut his way' into the centre's barbecue gas bottle cage.

CCTV was also shared on Facebook.

Busy Bee said the man made multiple trips to the centre between 2am and 3am, loading bottles into a vehicle, but dropping a few along the way.

Police confirmed an investigation is underway.

The garden centre has now said it will offer £1,000 to anyone with information that leads to a conviction.
