Isle of Wight ferry Red Funnel sailings off after sewage blockage

There are cancellations on Isle of Wight ferry firm Red Funnel's car ferry service today (Thursday).

A sewage blockage on its Red Eagle vessel is to blame.

Red Funnel said the 1.30pm sailing from Southampton if off, as is the 3pm from Cowes.

The firm said: "They are cancelled due to a blockage in the sewage system on the Red Eagle.

"We apologise for any inconvenience to your journey."

It is the latest in a raft of cancellations on the vehicle ferry service.

At least 12 crossings were scrapped yesterday (Wednesday) and four sailings were cancelled on (Tuesday).

The reason given was an issue with the Voith propulsion on the same vessel, the Red Eagle.
