A landslip has seen tonnes of rubble come crashing down a cliff on the Isle of Wight.

Video shows a large landslide at Whale Chine, near Chale.

It is the latest in a series of falls along the iconic Military Road.

Although Island Roads insists there has been 'no sign' of movement on the highway itself, there has been a collapse near Compton and a footpath on the route had to be shut after a void appeared.

The most recent fall, at Whale Chine, was witnessed by Sarah Follett and her husband while they were on the beach below.

Luckily, they were far enough back to avoid the tumbling debris.

The video was captured yesterday (Sunday).

Earlier this month the County Press also reported on a fall near Fort Albert.

On that occasion an old turret came crashing down the cliff.

More significantly, in Bonchurch, a major landslide saw residents forced to evacuate their homes.

A cafe has also been left dangling on a cliff edge and a popular beauty spot was lost.

Walkers are urged to take care near the cliffs, especially in the wet weather.
