Southern Water says everyone on the Isle of Wight should now have water, following a recent outage.

Responding to concerns of another disruption to supply this afternoon (Monday), the water provider says: “This not happening.

“Everyone is and should remain back in supply.

“We’re so sorry again for the disruption caused to you this week.”

Anyone whose water supply has not returned should call 0330 303 0368.

On Saturday, 4,600 properties were warned of a loss of supply or low pressure.

Thousands of water bottles were delivered throughout Ventnor, St Lawrence, Whitwell and Niton, though there were widespread reports on social media of households being left out.

Southern Water did not publicise any pick-up points for residents to collect bottles, as they did in many affected areas on the mainland.

Warnings had been issued about a potential loss of supply ever since the floods hit the Island on Wednesday, October 25.

At that time, there were fears 31,000 homes on the Isle of Wight could be affected.
