A popular museum on the Isle of Wight is aiming high for its next exhibit.

The National Poo Museum has become a favourite tourist destination on the Island since it opened its doors in 2022, in what was once, appropriately enough, a public lavatory.

The museum contains faeces that has been sourced (with the use of a device referred to as a ‘poo hammock’) and treated, for safe exhibition.

The majority of donations are from the animal kingdom, with one human contribution.

But Daniel Roberts and Nicola Winsland, who run the museum, have a new idea - celebrities. Not so much famous faces, as famous faeces!

When asked who they were aiming at, they showed they are looking firmly at the stars.

The first name mentioned was David Attenborough, who they feel would have an interest in the museum, given he has devoted his life to the study of the natural world.

But that bastion of the British establishment is a mere warm up to their main target for faecal extraction - no other than King Charles.

Daniel feels that the presence of a royal secretion could provide a further boost to visitor numbers, but he also has a more altruistic purpose - to destigmatise conversations about bowel movements. “I mean we all do it” he said.

It would be a spectacular addition to a collection that is already well worth a visit.

Though it’s a museum devoted to number twos, when it comes to a fun day out, this place is number one.
