Ryde Academy has announced it will open on the day of teacher strikes this week.

Just as they did last month, NEU members are once again taking part in industrial action.

The latest round of walk outs is on Thursday, March 2.

Three Island schools have already announced their closure, as the County Press reported.

However, Ryde Academy, Pellhurst Lane, has said it will stay open, although it may mean some adjustments.

In a letter to parents, headteacher Joy Ballard said: "We are pleased to inform you that our school will be open as normal.

"The strike will however impact internal staffing arrangements that day, so there will be some changes to the students usual way of learning."

Ryde Academy also remained open during the first round of strikes on February, 1, although some teachers did still take part.

Thursday will be the second day of industrial action.

They're staging walk outs over pay and funding.
