M&Co is to close all its stores and jobs will be lost, it has been announced less than two months after the administrators were called in.

The news, which includes the branch in Ryde, was shared by some stores on their individual social media accounts yesterday (Monday).

The message read: "As we haven't received any funded, deliverable offers...all of our stores will close.

"The M&Co 'Brand' has been purchased, but unfortunately this does not include a future for our stores, or staff.

"We will trade potentially as long as possible and then begin the close down process. We will update you closer to the time, of our actual closing date."

As the County Press reported last month, closing signs had already appeared in the Ryde High Street branch.

Plans have been submitted to demolish half the store and build flats on its delivery yard.

Adele MacLeod, Gavin George Scott Park and Robert James Harding of Teneo Financial Advisory Limited were appointed joint administrators of the brand, on December 9.

Some will continue to trade into April.
