A motorhome and a van were destroyed and a car was badly damaged in two separate fires in the same Isle of Wight town, on Saturday night.

They happened just minutes apart, in East Cowes, prompting calls to emergency crews.

At about 11.45pm, they found a van on fire (scroll down for pictures).

Firefighters from East Cowes were on the scene until around 2am.

The van has since been removed, although a safety cordon remains.

Around twenty minutes after they were called to the incident in Victoria Grove, a second fire broke out, in the small residential close of Kent Avenue.

The road is around a five minute walk from the first fire scene.
