A popular Wootton pub could be shutting its doors for up to a month while repair works are carried out.

The Woodman Arms, in Station Road, is having works done to fix what it suspects is ground subsidence.

On Monday (23) a temporary wall is being installed and further investigations are taking place. This will be followed by a visit from an insurance company on Wednesday (25).

Posting on its Facebook page, the Woodman Arms said: "One scenario is next Wednesday, they could give the ok to close the pub the following week for a month."

The added: "Another is [they] find out what's wrong on Wednesday, take the wall down and book in works to be done when it less affects trade... however we are in the dark and are at the mercy of the insurance.

"This does mean some of you who have booked tables in the next coming weeks may have to have them cancelled or rearranged... we will be in contact directly if we feel this may affect you."
