THE Isle of Wight's hospital remains in a 'critical incident', with yet more appointments cancelled at St Mary's.

Earlier this week, the IOW NHS Trust announced that all routine outpatient appointments had been cancelled until today (Friday).

The Trust has confirmed this will continue into next week, with appointments now cancelled until next Friday (December 30).

Cancer treatments and urgent operations will still go ahead, including breast screening.

Islanders can the Isle of Wight NHS Trust help by:

  • Helping patients home once discharged from hospital and collecting friends and family whenever possible.
  • Thinking about the most appropriate NHS service - only calling 999 in the event of a life-threatening illness or injury and visiting NHS 111 online, local pharmacists and GPs for heath advice.
