AFTER scooping up the Audience Choice Award at last year’s Ventnor Fringe Festival, comedy performer Joe Plumb is the one to watch this year.

He is bringing a new show, Born to be the Weather Wizard, in an unusual quest — to be a local celebrity!

In 2021, Joe kickstarted his tongue-in-cheek campaign for Isle of Wight Independence, which is something he is still banging on about!

This year, he’s got his sights set even higher… inspired by the likes of Randini, MacArthur, Sandy and Tennyson, Joe is on a quest to be a local celebrity.

His ultimate aim, of course, is to become more famous than the Weather Wizard at Blackgang Chine — no mean feat.

Make sure you see him this weekend before the fame goes to his head!

Joe said, as part of Ventnor Fringe's commitment to be more 'mainland friendly', his show is available with 'Grockle Interpretation' — just let the steward know on the door.

Joe said: “I am so excited to be back at Ventnor Fringe Festival with a brand new show in the Magpie tent at Ventnor Park. It’s so Isle of Wight it hurts! I love the fringe and this year’s lineup is superb!”

Joe is performing Born to be the Weather Wizard on Friday (July 22) and Saturday (July 23) at 7pm.
