A PATIENT at St Mary's Hospital has died after contracting Covid-19, new data shows.

The latest death was recorded on November 16.

It takes the Isle of Wight's Covid death toll, since the start of the pandemic, to 336.

The patient was the 191st to die with Covid at the hospital since the pandemic began.

Outside the hospital setting, there have been 145 deaths, including 122 in care homes.

There has been confusion over getting the Covid booster jab on the Isle of Wight.

The Solent NHS Trust had asked people to wait for a letter before booking, so capacity could be focussed on those with highest clinical need first.

However, the government website allows people aged over 50 and in certain categories to book.
