104 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded on the Isle of Wight, according to today's daily update.

There have now been 11,767 positive tests on the Island since the start of the pandemic.

The number of deaths in hospital have also risen this week.

Three more were announced today, after patients in St Mary's in Newport died after contracting coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the Isle of Wight's rolling average number of cases per 100,000 people over seven days has risen.

It stood at 327.5 on September 23.

The data lags five days behind the current statistics.

Earlier, we reported that the number of cases at Christ the King college in Newport had prompted the school to ask pupils to start wearing facemasks.
