A NUMBER of children and staff from Isle of Wight schools are self-isolating, after multiple Covid-19 cases were confirmed in the past two days.
The Isle of Wight Council confirmed today (Friday) that following a positive Covid test for an adult, 23 children in in two year groups and two adults at Barton Primary School in Newport are to self-isolate until July 9.
Nineacres Primary School, also in Newport, has reported two children testing positive, in different year groups.
A total of 46 children in the years affected and four adults are required to self-isolate until July 9.
This follows news yesterday (Thursday) of more than 100 children and members of staff self-isolating.
A total of around 108 pupils at the two faculties were reported to be self-isolating, after positive tests were confirmed at Cowes Enterprise College and Medina College in Newport.
