A CHAINSAW and harpoon are alleged to have been present at an incident in Oak Vale, Ryde.

Cayliam Marley Sheen, 23, of Elm Grove, Newport, appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court today, charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a chainsaw, in a public place.

He was remanded in custody until June 7, when he will appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.

The court heard that five people were involved in the incident, on May 3, and a harpoon was also one of the weapons mentioned.

Police had been called just before 11pm to a disturbance in the street in Oak Vale involving a group of men.

As previously reported, Cameron Wayne Baker, 25, of no fixed abode, has been charged with affray, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and possession of Class A drugs.

Connor Anthony Pattrick, 27, of High Street in Freshwater, has been charged with affray, possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas/electrical incapacitation device, possession of an offensive weapon, being a driver failing to provide a specimen for analysis, and possession of class A drugs.

The three men are currently in custody.
