Votes cast in Thursday's election, for the role of Police and Crime Commissioner for the Isle of Wight, will be counted today (Monday).

Four people want the job.

Conservative candidate Donna Jones spoke to the County Press earlier this month (May), setting out her plans for if she gets elected.

Liberal Democrat candidate Richard Murphy's candidacy was welcomed by the Isle of Wight's Nick Stuart, who heads up the party here.

Labour's Tony Bunday has also set out his plans for the role, which oversees the police for for Hampshire, as well as the Isle of Wight.

Meanwhile, Hampshire independent Steve James-Bailey was also in the running.

Islanders voted in either two or three elections on Thursday, May 6, depending on our ward.

The votes in the Isle of Wight Council election were counted on Friday.

The votes in the town and parish council elections were counted on Saturday.
