MORE Isle of Wight Covid cases have been confirmed, the latest data has revealed.

Public Health England figures released today (Thursday) show two new cases have been recorded.

This follows on from yesterday's four and Tuesday's eight, taking the Isle of Wight's total since the start of the pandemic to 6,757.

No new cases were recorded on Monday.

The Island's rolling rate, though five days behind, now stands at 14.1 per 100,000 people.

Yesterday, it was 12 and despite the rise it remains well below the UK rate, which is 37.3.

Earlier today a further Covid related hospital death was confirmed at St Mary's in Newport.
