ISLE of Wight schools will reopen today (Monday), but only for the children of the Island’s key workers, as designated by the government last week.

In an Isle of Wight County Press poll on Facebook, of the 271 people who responded, 52 per cent said they were unable to take their children to class following Friday’s closure.

However, 48 per cent said their children would still be taking part in lessons in school.

On Friday, the Isle of Wight Council said ‘nearly all’ schools would be offering facilities to allow the Island’s critical workers to continue in their roles.
