TWO people have today (Tuesday) appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court — charged with aggravated burglary and wounding with intent after armed police were called to a knife attack at a Ryde flat.

Timothy Peter Brown, 39, of no fixed address, and Louise April Spence, 29, also of no fixed address, formerly of Station Road, Brading, were charged with attacking their victim with a knife and stealing cash and drugs to the value of £1,500.

They did not enter a plea.

The case was adjourned to the Isle of Wight Crown Court on February 3.

Mr Brown and Ms Spence were remanded in custody.

A 27-year-old man from Ryde, who was initially arrested with the pair, has been released with no further action.

However, the court heard another man was still wanted by police in connection with the incident.

As reported, armed police and officers with dogs were called to the incident, at East Hill Road, on Friday night.
