A FUNDRAISING page has been launched for the family of Yvonne Copland, who died in the Forest Road bus crash on Sunday.

As well as Yvonne's death, the other occupants of the car she was in have been hospitalised with serious injuries.

Family members wishing to travel to visit those in hospital are incurring great costs as a result.

Family friend Karen Haynes launched the appeal to help with travel and accommodation costs.

She said: "Sadly Yvonne Copland was taken from her family far too soon.

"Yvonne was a beautiful lady and is survived by family wishing to visit her family involved in the fatal accident last weekend, but this is proving very costly to them.

"The family involved that are in hospital are in in different hospitals, thus there is a need to stay overnight to be near.

"The fundraiser is set up to help with all travel costs to and from the Island and for accommodation."

As reported earlier this week, a petition has been launched to introduce traffic lights to the junction where the crash took place.
