ISLAND ROADS will be gritting our roads again today as temperatures continue to plunge.

Forecasts from the Met Office suggests we could see two days of snow and ice, starting at 1pm today (Thursday) and ending about 9pm on Friday.

The gritters will be out this afternoon from 2pm.

A spokesman for Island Roads said on Twitter: "We’ll carry out a further treatment this evening and remain on standby throughout the night. Please drive carefully and according to conditions."
