THE YELLOW warning for snow and ice which covers the Isle of Wight has been extended until Friday evening.

Forecasts from the Met Office suggests we could see two days of snow and ice, starting at 1pm today (Thursday) and ending about 9pm on Friday.

The IW Met Service suggests the main parts of the Island to see snow will be the central and north west areas.

People have been warned to expect possible travel delays, power cuts, mobile phone outages and black ice on untreated roads, pavement and cycle paths.
