Newport Football Club finished their Wessex League campaign on a high as they completed a 3-0 win against Aldermaston on the Isle of Wight.

Despite missing out on a play-off position, Port were keen to finish the season on a high at Westwood Park.

Bolsetered by the return of Matt Benford, George Holbrook and Mikey Thompsett, the team started strong and quickly converted through Ji NASH, bringing his goal tally to 40 for the season.

Despite attacking threat from the opposition, Newport maintained their lead into half time.

A quieter second half gave the hosts ample space to try for a second goal and the goods came through substitute Jordan Browne from the edge of the box.

Kudzhi Mazambara then secured the result for the Islanders with his first goal of the club, palpably celebrated by all the players and fans, reflecting his popularity.

Port finish the season in 7th place with a tally of 72 points - the team finish their season with a final fixture against Cowes Sports in the Gold Cup Final.
