All three Wessex League teams from the Isle of Wight had an anticlimactic end to the season as they all suffered defeat.
Newport, East Cowes Vics and Cowes Sports were in action today, hoping to finish their seasons on a positive note - but fate had other plans.
COLDEN COMMON 2 - NEWPORT IW FC 1
Newport travelled to the mainland missing ten first team regulars and had only one substitute available for the game.
Despite this, Port started brightly, matching up with Colden Common well.
Ji NASH opened the scoring with his 39th goal of the season, but scores were level before half time.

Tired, the depleted Newport side started to waiver and attempted to cling onto the point.
Leon Pitman saved some crucial shots, but a Colden Common free kick into the top corner gave him no chance, and the hosts took all three points.
PETERSFIELD TOWN 3 - EAST COWES VICS 0
Vics travelled to Petersfield with hopes of taking the win to bring their points tally up to 40.
However, the hosts opened the scoring in the third minute, and despite good efforts from Macaulay Barnes and Harrison Yates for Vics, the mainlanders defended their lead.
The Islanders couldn't produce anything for the away fans to cheer and Petersfield finished the game with goals in the 74th and 83rd minute.
COWES SPORTS 1 - BROCKENHURST FC 3
At the Zilch Waste stadium, Brockenhurst struck first in the 23rd minute.
The visitors followed up with two good chances, each saved well by star goalkeeper Ed Hatt.
On the stroke of half time, Scott MCFARLANE equalised with a penalty after a handball from Brockenhurst.
Things were looking up for the Yachtsmen, but a few chances not taken in the first half led to two quick-fire goals from the New Forest team.
With a mountain to climb, Cowes couldn't get back into the game and the team finished the season with defeat.
