The yellows' prolific striker, who scored four goals at Alresford Town on Saturday, could be the key to whether Port earn promotion to the Wessex Premier — most likely through the play-offs — and join Vics and the Yachtsmen next season.
They climbed to sixth with a win against the side sitting below them before kick-off.
Nash scored the opener after just four minutes — latching onto a smart through ball and rounding the keeper to slot in.
The game became very stretched after that — the pendulum swinging from end to end.
But a penalty by Nash in the 34th minute eased Port's nerves.
A few minutes later, Neo Lamb was shown a red card, but no change to the scoreline.
MILLBROOK 1, EAST COWES VICS 1
East Cowes Vics earned a battling point at Millbrook in the Wessex League Premier.
They started well, with Charlie Hart striking the post early, but Millbrook went ahead after 23 minutes.
Despite several chances, Vics trailed at half-time.
A sharper second half saw Jake Wright equalise within three minutes of the restart, and a determined display left Vics satisfied with their night’s work.
BAFFINS MILTON ROVERS 4, COWES SPORTS 1
A second half collapse saw Cowes Sports fall at Baffins Milton Rovers in the Wessex Premier.
Emerson Tattersall gave the Yachtsmen a seventh-minute lead, and West missed a good chance before Baffins equalised on 38 minutes.
A controversial 67th-minute goal turned the match, with two late strikes sealing Cowes’s fate.
Ed Hatt’s fine stoppage-time save prevented further damage on a tough evening for the Islanders.
