An Islander has seen success as part of Great Britain's flag football team.
Lottie Laidler was selected to be part of Team GB for the Flag Football World Championships in Lahti, Finland.
Team GB won all of their group games, taking them top of their group at the end of the second day.
The team also won their first placement game, but narrowly lost their quarter final to Japan, losing by only one touchdown.
The team picked themselves back up and won their last few games to be placed seventh, meaning that they qualify for the World Games next year in China.
Lottie said in a statement: "The GB team are truly gutted to not take a medal from the world championships, and this is something we need time to process.
"However, the opportunity to play in China next year is huge and will motivate us further.
"The road to the 2028 Olympics has only just begun.
"I’d like to thank Red Funnel, who offered free travel in sponsorship."
