A large team of young Isle of Wight athletes travelled to the Wessex Athletics League, at Tilsley Park in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

In the Boys U13s, Brodie Ross won the 100m, recording a PB of 13.9 seconds. A four metre jump secured him the long jump. 

In the Girls U13s, Alicia Feather came second in the javelin, with 23.63m, and in the 200m, and third in the 100m, all PBs. There were PBs for Holly Taylor in the B 100m and 200m races, while Olivia Johnson was second in long jump.

For the U15 Boys, Remy Deegan was second in the 100m, running a PB, and secured firsts in the 200m and long jump. Ben Hall was second in the 100m and won the 200m. Noah Cherry won shot put and was second in discus and javelin.

In the U15 Girls', Jasmine Wheeler was second in the 1500m and high jump.

For the U17 Men's team, Isaac Phillimore took third in the 200m, having raced in Portsmouth a day earlier, in the Hampshire Schools Championships. Vlad Ignatenko gained a PB in his 100m and second place. Amy Greenwell won shot put, with 8.76m and discus, with a season best of 22.51m. Charlotte Jenkins won javelin, with 26.10m - again, a season best.

Overall, the team finished a creditable third.
