There has been mainland action for the Wightlink-Wight Mountain CRT bike riders, in recent weeks.

The team swept the board, at the Southern XC MTB Races in the New Forest, on May 26, securing a hat trick of wins despite heavy overnight rain, which made the course slippery in places.

Nicholas Earley crossed the line first.

He said: “I’m really happy. The track was good and suited me well.”

Nadia Lele won the Women’s Sport category.

“Single track and techy climbs? My favourite things!”, she said.

Ewan Cook and Alfie Haydon, took first and second in the Junior Open race. Mackenzie Cook and Finley Manser-Grundy also competed, in the Open Youth and U10 categories, respectively.

Elsewhere, at Goodwood, Jason Peach, Charis Jones and Jack Davies hit the road.

Jack took third, while Charis pulled out a powerful sprint to take sixth.

They also had ‘an amazing time’ at the RideLondon.

At the Portsmouth North End Cycling Club Mountbatten Summer Circuits Series, Charis was disappointed to fall foul of a puncture, despite being a lap up on the field and winning the sprint prime.

Finally, Finley Manser-Grundy was in action in the Forest of Dean, at the Little Fodder Downhill Races, in the U8 category.
