WEATHER permitting there is full league and cup football programme involving Isle of Wight clubs this weekend.

With a forecast for more rain, following last weekend's bad weather which decimated the football programme, and further rain during the week, there will no doubt be plenty of pitch inspections today (Friday) and tomorrow morning (Saturday).

In the Wessex League, all three of the Island's clubs will be crossing The Solent for their matches.

In the Premier, Cowes Sports travel to second bottom Christchurch, in a great vein of form, following a superb draw at fourth-placed AFC Portchester last Saturday and a solid midweek win at home to bottom side Lymington Town, which has hoisted them into fourth spot.

In Division 1, seventh placed East Cowes Vics, will continue their battle to the play-offs with a game at second-bottom Aldermaston, while improving Newport play struggling Frimley Green.

High Park return from their suspension with a home tie in the Isle of Wight Senior (Gold) Cup against fellow Island League Division 1 side Binstead & COB, at Steyne Park, Bembridge, while Brading Town entertain Bembridge at the Peter Henry Ground.

West Wight have the chance to extend their lead at the top of Division 1 at ECS, while Vectis could hit their highest league position of second if they can beat Cowes Sports Reserves on the road.

Whitecroft & Barton Sports, in second and unbeaten this season, have games in hand on West Wight and Vectis.
