THE Wight Eagles Ladies continued their rich vein of form with a comfortable win over Burseldon Ladies — a victory which leave them in fourth but well in touch with the sides above them.

The Islanders started brightly, opening the scoring with an Abi Joyce strike, but no further goals were added before the break in this Hampshire Women's League Division 3 clash on Sunday.

Shortly after the second half restart, in front of a sizeable crowd in East Cowes cheering the ladies on, Joyce was put through on goal again for her to bag her second.

The Eagles weathered a couple of Burseldon storms, but could not find a way past their in-form keeper, Morgan Foord.

Player of the match Joyce put the game to bed when she found room through the visitors' defence, and unselfishly squared the ball to Lucy Scholes to finish.
