All three of our Isle of Wight Wessex League clubs are in action today (Saturday, January 13), as Cowes and Vics hope to push towards the play-off positions and Port aim to pull away from the relegation zone.

Baffins Milton Rovers v Cowes Sports

Fresh from being announced as Wessex League Premier Division ‘Club of the Month,’ the Yachtsmen travel to Baffins Milton Rovers this afternoon.

Cowes are eyeing a play-off place, finding themselves just one point behind Brockenhurst in fifth, with three games in hand on the mainlanders.

Last time out, the Islanders shared the points with league leaders and highest scorers in the Premier Division, Shaftsbury, in a 2-2 draw at Westwood Park.

After 91 days away from their home ground - the PMC Stadium – Baffins will move above the Yachtsmen on goal difference, should they clinch all three points today.

Baffins come into this match in high spirits, following a 3-1 win away at bottom club Lymington Town.

Kick-off is at 3pm.

Verwood Town v East Cowes Vics

Meanwhile, in Division One, East Cowes Vics head to 14th-place Verwood Town.

Earlier in the season, Vics were able to secure a narrow 1-0 win against today’s opponents.

Vics are one place outside the play-off positions (sixth) and come off the back of a 5-3 win against Ash United at Beatrice Avenue last Saturday (January 6).

Verwood claimed a point in a 1-1 draw with 19th-place Andover Town in their last outing.

Kick-off at Potterne Park is at 3pm.

Newport v Cove

Port welcome play-off hopefuls Cove to Beatrice Avenue this afternoon.

Newport sit in 17th, with games in hand on the teams around them, while Cove currently find themselves in fifth – Port could do Vics a favour with a win today.

Cove travel to the Island off the back of a 2-1 win at home to strugglers Frimley Green.

Port will hope to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat away at Folland Sports on Saturday.

Newport will be holding a bucket collection on the gate for long-serving player Spike Pearce to help in his recovery from a recent leg break.

Kick-off at Beatrice Avenue is 3pm.
