AFTER hitting the 2023-24 WKRKC Winter Series running, Jack Goring is looking determined to add it to the summer title he won a matter of a few months ago.

In Round 2 of the winter competition, which saw the first running on the standard track layout, 15 drivers competed over two weight classes — light and middle weight.

Track conditions changed with the weather.

A wet track faced drivers in the first heats, but the sunshine quickly started drying out a racing line and, by the final heats, the drivers were treated to a dry track — a rarity lately.

In the middleweight class, for driver 65kg and over, Goring continued his winning streak — and also claimed maximum points from his heats, finishing on 38 points, to lay down a formidable defence of his summer championship win.

In the lightweight class, for drivers under 65kg, Louis Thornton showed a dominant edge, managing to not just win each heat but also taking the fastest lap in every heat, to claim the maximum 38 points.

Round 3 will be on Sunday, December 10.
