Those enjoying the start of Isle of Wight sailing's new Illusion winter season enjoyed sunshine and a reasonably steady NW’erly breeze, on Saturday, October 14, in Bembridge.

Ed Peel, Bruce Huber and Mike Issaias quickly emerged as the leaders of the fleet of twenty boats, while Caroline Simonds had to retire after her steering failed.

By the fourth and final race, Bruce and Ed were the front two to finish.

After a discard, Bruce Huber was crowned overall winner, with Ed Peel named the runner up.
