CARISBROOKE United has announced that, after 125 years, the club has folded.

“The club, as most will know, has been struggling for players for quite a while,” said Julie Culliford-Brace for the club.

“And for this season, we have only had a few players come forward.

“I would like to thank all of those who have been involved with Carisbrooke United FC over the years.

“This includes some past players, presidents, vice presidents, chairs, committee members and managers, including Reg Moul, who has worked tirelessly over the years he has been with us.

“We have seen some really good results, and some not so good, but all in all it has been a really good club.

“On a personal note, I am heartbroken that this has happened, as many know I've been with the club for 28 years and have seen it decline, largely since Covid.

“I always hoped things would improve, and I'm sorry that it has not.

“Thank you all, once again, and I wish all our past players and those connected to the Brooke success good health.”

At the weekend, Osborne Coburg were handed all three points in Island League Division Two, when Carisbrooke United were unable to field a side.
