The Island-born 30-year-old has capped off a life-changing month in his professional career by topping the leaderboard by two strokes at the prestigious Headfort Golf Club, in County Meath, which ended on Sunday.

Brandon, who got himself noticed on the world's biggest stage, at the 151st Open a few weeks ago, kept the momentum going by carding out with a superb -4 round of 67.

The Islander had gone into the final day two shots off the lead, but his five birdies and a bogey ensured his position at the top of the leaderboard with -12 — beating England's Will Enefer and American, Jordan Gumberg, who shared second on -10.

Brandon is delighted with his latest win, to continue what has been an incredible 2023, which also included winning the Northern Ireland Open in June.

Isle of Wight County Press:

“It was exciting, fun and I felt privileged this week. It’s great to come out on top,” the Islander said.

“I tried to remain patient. It’s never straightforward on the final day, but I just tried to take every shot as it came.

"I had a game plan and I tried to stick to that and then see where I ended up. Luckily it paid off.

“The course was amazing. The greens held up phenomenally and were so pure.

Isle of Wight County Press:

"The fairways were lush all week and the rough was 'juicy'. It was vital to hit fairways out there.

“I’ve had an amazing few weeks. “It’s special to win my first Challenge Tour event — and playing The Open was insane.

“I’m really enjoying my golf right now — and long may it continue.”

Brandon was also invited to this week’s British Challenge at the magnificent St Mellion Estate course in Cornwall, which starts tomorrow (Thursday), confident on keeping his rich vein of form going into August.
