ISLE of Wight riders ventured into the depths of Duxmore chalk pit for a trial, battling it out on the steep hills and spoil mounds.

In the adult beginner’s category, Dave Elford took the win on 18 dropped marks.

Rob Payne came in second with a score of 25, followed by Steve Jacobs on 42.

In the youth beginner’s category, Riley Baker found the trial a challenge, put persevered to finish on 66.

Blake Buggy had to switch bikes and was thus disqualified, but still finished on a respectable 97.

In the novice category, Mike True took the win, dropping only 24 marks, with Sam Jurich in second on 39 and Rile True in third on 51.

In the Open C Class, Scott Milton won on eight, with Alan Gosden in second on 16 and Ben Ashcroft third on 35.

In the intermediates category, Daryl Biles dropped just 17 marks, followed in by Harrison Crickmores on 30 and Ajay Shaw on 53.

In the Open B Class, Ross Haydon took the win on nine dropped marks, with Jack Ayres in second on 11.

In the Over 50s Class, Simon Newnham posted the lowest score on the B-route, dropping seven marks, and Tom Richards was the sole rider in the Premier Class, finishing on 14.

In the Youth Expert Class, Alfie Haydon recorded a score of 38.
