IT WAS a busy week of racing for Wightlink-Wight Mountain CRT.

On Tuesday, James Veal travelled to Thruxton to race in the fourth and final round of the Pronto Bikes Series.

James held off the sprinting bunch to take his first prime of the season, finishing 7th place during the final sprint and second overall on points.

Ben Johnson, meanwhile, travelled to Weston Park in the West Midlands on Saturday to compete in the XTERRA England off-road triathlon.

The race comprised a one-mile lake swim, 16-mile cycle, and seven-mile trail run, and Ben placed 22nd.

Closer to home, the team hosted the second round of the Evening TT Series at Chessell Cafe on Thursday.

More than 60 riders competed in the ten-mile course, and Kev Chant finished as the overall winner, powering home in just over 20 minutes.

Teammate, James Veal, finished in second, and Joe Staunton finished third.

Steve Taylor placed first in the Vet 60 and over category, and Dominique Munday took her second win of the series.

Junior rider Ewan Cook also bagged silverware, and Katie Bunn put in a strong performance to beat her IW Triathlon Club teammates.
