AFTER a month's hiatus due to Covid-19, the IW Saturday League returned with a number of scheduled games today (Saturday).

In Division One of the IW Saturday League, Shanklin took all three points to go top of the table following a 3-0 win at home to Sandown.

Northwood St Johns, meanwhile, beat a travelling Carisbrooke United side 4-0 to leapfrog West Wight into third.

In Division Two, Oakfield extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a 4-2 victory over Yarmouth and Calbourne, while Osborne and Coburg despatched Adgestone in a seven-goal thriller to end the day in third place.

In Division One of the Sydenhams Wessex League, East Cowes Vics picked up where they had left off before lockdown, drawing 1-1 with Ringwood Town.

The home side are still looking for their third win of the season, but sit comfortably in twelfth, ahead of the visitors on goal difference.

The Vics have a mountain to climb in their next fixture, playing host to an impressive Alton side who have won seven of their first nine games.

Fellow division one side, Newport, will host Hythe & Dibden on Tuesday, while in the Premier Division, Cowes Sports will take on Lymington Town.
