COWES Sports will be hoping to continue where they left off in their last tie when they face fellow Sydenhams Wessex Premier side Hamble Club in the Emirates FA Cup this afternoon (Saturday).
The Yachtsmen — who lost in mid-week to Blackfield and Langley in the Premier to leave them down at the bottom — will be putting it behind them in the first preliminary round of the world's oldest cup competition at Westwood Park.
Cowes beat Totton and Eling 1-0 in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup nearly a fortnight ago and will be wanting to go on a run in the cup this year.
The scorer against Totton, Cowes skipper John McKie, will be facing the club he played for last season, before he went on loan to the Yachtsmen for a couple of games until Covid-19 struck.
Hamble have also got off to a poor start in the Premier, with only a point registered themselves.
Last season, Hamble did the league double over Cowes. The last time they played, McKie faced his old Cowes team-mates in a 4-2 home victory in January
With the weather perfect this afternoon, a good-sized crowd is expected at Westwood.
Kick-off 3pm.
