RYDE Harriers runner Sasha Levrier demonstrated all the grit, determination and tenacity to complete the gruelling Tenacious Ten-Hour Endurance Challenge in Wales on Saturday.
The event, at hilly Crickhowell, in the Brecon Beacons, was a ten-hour challenge with runners aiming to complete as many laps of a 4.3-mile loop, with 1,700ft of ascent each time.
With trail races only just starting again as lockdown measures ease, Sasha said: “It was a day well spent and it was great to be back racing again.
“It was a brutal loop.”
The run began at Perth y Pia in the Black Mountains, then up to Table Mountain.
“It was long old slog to the top. My downhill game is still strong but I still have work to do on the up,” explained Sasha, from the Isle of Wight.
“It was a super hard day. I tallied 10,500ft of elevation overall in six laps, covering 25.25 miles in 9hs 40mins.”
Her efforts earned her the first lady accolade.
