THIS afternoon's fixtures in Divisions A and B of the All Island Cricket League are under threat because of the good old British weather.

After a week of blistering heat across the Isle of Wight, cricketers were looking forward to some great matches.

However, with light drizzle this morning and the possibility of it continuing into the afternoon, it is 50-50 as to whether matches go ahead or not, with home clubs poised to make a decision over the next hour.

So far, only the Division B match between Ryde Cavaliers and Bembridge against Northwood 2, at Steyne Park, Bembridge, has been called off.

In Division A, Northwood 1 entertain Shanklin and Godshill 1 at The Park, Park Road, Cowes, while league leaders Ryde 1 take on Ventnor 1 at Harding Shute, Ryde, and Newport face St Helens at Victoria Rec, Newport.

Meanwhile, in Division B, Ventnor 2 entertain Ryde III at Steephill and Freshwater face Shanklin and Godshill 2 at the West Wight Sports Centre, Freshwater.

All games are scheduled to start at 1pm.
