MEMBERS of the Wightlink-Wight Mountain cycle race team have enjoyed success at virtual events on the Zwift race platform as they continue to prepare for a return to proper competitive action.

Isle of Wight cyclists Jerry and Julie Cooper have been competing at national and international level in events that can attract over 1,000 riders from around the world.

They competed in the Zwift ‘Tour for All’ race on an 18-mile virtual course, which averaged 26mph-plus speeds.

Jerry came 11th, while Julie was 25th and third woman.

The previous event, the Zwift Crit City Slam, Julie came second from 30 women, while Jerry came 23rd from 92.

Martin Sanders did the 10.9-mile Newbury Velo time trial in 26 minutes to finish seventh overall .
