EAST Cowes Vics have coaxed two talented Yachtsmen into crossing the Medina to join their crew for next season.
After boosting his coaching staff by bringing in Ian Potts from Cowes Sports last week, Vics boss, Richie Woodburn, plundered the Yachtsmen's ranks by securing the signatures of ex-Vics hitman, Ji Nash, and skillful midfielder, Aiden White.
Woodburn now feels he has a settled squad ahead of the new Sydenhams Wessex season — whenever that starts — having also secured the services of the vast majority of his squad from last season, including highly-rated keeper, Karl Steinborne-Busse, Ryan Gregory and Jimmi Burton.
Cowes, who have gained a new sponsor in Ecovo Media, recently signed former player-manager, John McKie, skilful ex-Yachtsmen defender, Callum Chase, and former Newport player, Lewis Wright — but the club has not confirmed the rest of the squad has signed on the dotted line to play Sydenhams Premier football for the club this coming season.
Division 1 side, Newport, who were one of the promotion candidates going into the latetr stages of last season, until Covid-19 struck, have re-signed former Vics forward and skipper, Joe Butcher.
Port boss, Andy Sampson, will be delighted to have most of his squad sign up to play next season — particularly Connor Kelly, who was a revelation, alongside the likes of Joe Craig, Jordan Browne and skipper, Martin McDonough.
Evergreen keeper, Gary Streeter, also signed on for another season.
